Mona is located on the banks of the River Derwent in Berriedale, eleven kilometres north of Hobart—approximately twenty-five minutes by water, or twenty minutes by road.

Sail here by high-speed, camouflaged ferry. It travels regularly between Hobart and Mona, departing Hobart from Brooke Street Pier on the waterfront.

Accessibility
There are 99 steps upon arrival at Mona. There’s an accessible entrance via tunnel if you need it. Just make yourself known to staff onboard. But David says you have to take the stairs if you’re able.
